A room with high gloss furniture

The place shown in the photograph was very unlike the place I was living in. In fact, it was completely opposite to my style, taking every single detail into account. First of all, the walls were painted pastel colours, which I really hated. Actually, I prefer deep and intensive colours, and pastel hues somehow make me think of indecision. However, there was also a set of high gloss furniture in the room. Although it was deep red, I didn"t like the furniture for other reasons. They looked somehow artificial. You know, I prefer natural-looking things such as unseasoned wood or items made of old boxes, retro-style armchairs and sofas. Modern furniture does not seem attractive to me. It"s cold and uninteresting and it looks unfamiliar. I guess it was the furniture that made the room in the picture look not very cozy. The examiner asked me what kind of person might live in such a room. I tried really hard to think of an answer. French had ever been my best subject, but I had to pass the exam to finish the course. I looked at the high gloss furniture and the pastel walls again. Then I suddenly remembered. I had once known a person who had lived in a place like that. We were in the same year in primary school. I decided to describe that person to the examiner.
