A high rack shelf
We were walking along a dark corridor and then entered a room on the left. The room was really cold and uncomfortable. There wasn"t even a chair to sit down. Well, there wasn"t a window either, so you got an impression that you were closed in a kind of underground hiding place. But there was no need for things like that. People rarely entered the room, perhaps only sometimes to make some necessary changes in the system. And the low temperature was necessary to keep the equipment in a good condition. I did not complain, of course. I looked around and saw a really high rack shelf with lots of computers on all of its levels. The computers did not have any screens or keyboards, but they were interconnected and created a huge system operated from an external device. I don"t know much about such things, so I could only suspect how it all worked. In another corner there was a second rack shelf, which was not as high as the first one. There were some carton boxes and wires lying on the floor next to it. Then a young man appeared and started explaining to me and my group how the server room worked. I must say that this explanation cleared some of my doubts, but not all of them. After all, it"s all quite complicated for a layperson, isn"t it?
